Impact Assessments and Resettlement Action Plans
Utilizing multi-disciplinary approach with teams drawn from the firm’s staff, supported by experts in the specific fields, Scott Wilson has undertaken detailed environmental impact assessments and resettlement action plans for various forms of infrastructure projects. These have included a number of projects in environmentally sensitive areas involving population displacement and resettlement and impacts on rare and endangered species.
Environmental Assessments are generally carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the major international Lending Agencies, including World bank and in accordance with environmental legislation of the country in which the project is situated. Scott Wilson has vast experience in carrying out these studies within Africa and understands the environmental context.
Studies undertaken by the firm often lead to recommendations affecting project design to minimize impacts achieving a balance between development and environmental protection.
Environment studies have been conducted on all major projects executed by the firm covering the full spectrum of projects from transportation, Commercial and Industrial Developments to Energy sectors.

Provision of ESIA consultancy services for the Feasibility Study for Detailed Design and Supervision of Construction of National Highway N1 (222km), Preparation of a Resettlement Action Plan and Implementation of the Resettlement action plan, over a 1000 Project Affected Persons (PAPs) were either moved or received compensation
Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) At Salamanga Limestone Mine in Maputo Province. At the mining concession area in Salamanga (4102C), a considerable number of families (approximately 94) will be affected by the projects. Scott Wilson is carrying out the RAP.
